Revision as of 12:27, 10 December 2010
Spindles are the business end of the router. They provide the rotational torque that does the work of cutting.
Major brands
Colombo, HSD, Kress, and Porter-Cable. We use primarily Colombo and HSD spindles. Kress and Porter-Cable spindles are basically just souped-up Dremels.
Replacement
Important factors for replacing a spindle are: HP, Voltage, Amperage, and RPMs found on the nameplate (see fig 2). As there may be multiple specs on a nameplate, a PICTURE is usually the best way to determine the right motor.
- H24G10-ISO3032H ISO 30 Tool holder excepts ER32 Collets
- H22X10-ESCAN Tech-Scan Laser Scanner
- This Tech-Scan set includes:
- Laser scanner
- Mounting accessories
- Scanner protection hood and software
- Two lenses for different scan depth and resolution
- Rhino lab license
- Rhino plug in to convert point clouds to surfaces
- This laser scanner can scan details down to the face of a coin and the software forms the ideal
- package to do reverse engineering and surface generation. It is the perfect companion to a
- stereo-lithography printer for a :complete system to do reverse engineering model making and prototyping.
- Alternate digitizer: This is a manual contact digitizing arm system
- Allows for the construction of 2D and 3D models by tracing the surface features of actual parts it can be used for tracing the 2D boundary of a part.
- Package includes:
- 3D digitizer and digitizing interface software for PC to collect data through AutoCAD, Mastercam and most CAD/CAM software packages.
- H22X10-3DPROBE 3D Touch probe with data collection software
- Touch probe mounts into spindle for data collection
