To remove a motor:
- If the motor to be removed is the Z axis, Chock up the Z slide so it doesn't drop when the motor is removed.
- Lock out power to the machine.
- Disconnect all cables going to the motor
If the motor is connected to the axis by a belt:
- Unscrew the motor from the mounting plate
- Remove the motor and belt
If the motor is connected via direct shaft coupling:
- Unscrew the bolts that hold the motor to the machine via the coupling housing
- Pull the motor away from the machine
